There´s more to this golf course than meets the eye, It is the only totally green sustainable golf course in Norway. No pesticides/chemicals allowed, we are producing grass like they did in the olden days. All due to the Gjersjøen lake providing drinking water to some fifty thousand households.
The course is laid out on ancient farm land. The first Stone Age settlers who left traces behind them arrived around 8.000 years ago. The "modern" farm goes back to the 12th century. It is located in a protected nature and cultural area (Svartskog = Black Forest). It is not uncommon to experience wildlife, in the air (eagle, osprey, buzzard, hawk, falcon) and on ground (lynx, fox, deer, moose). And more.
The club house is simple, with a small proshop and a kiosk providing toast, panini and a rather famous ´vaffel´, usually enjoyed on the club house porch. Then add a golf course that looks easy, but is challenging. It tests your skills, it tests your mentality, it is fun to play and it aligns golf with life itself. Double set of tees provides a really different backnine perspective. You are heartily welcome!
